Key-person dependency
A handful of people know why the platform works the way it does. When they are busy, changes wait. When they leave, the knowledge leaves with them.
For data and database teams
Telvi captures how your warehouse works, from the engineers who built it and the code that runs it. It keeps that knowledge accurate, so your teams and your AI agents can change the platform safely.
The problem
Code shows what a pipeline does. It rarely shows why. The reasons sit with a few senior engineers, in old tickets, and in documentation that no longer matches the code.
A handful of people know why the platform works the way it does. When they are busy, changes wait. When they leave, the knowledge leaves with them.
Engineers spend much of a change reconstructing intent before they can act on it. Documentation that has drifted from the code makes mistakes more likely, not less.
AI assistants and agents can read your schema and your code. They cannot see the decisions behind them, and they will confidently change what they do not understand.
Product
Telvi builds a knowledge graph of your data platform from three sources: your code, your documents and the people who know. Each statement in it can be traced to where it came from.
Telvi reads your code to find what is undocumented, then asks the engineers who know short, specific questions. Answers can reference Jira tickets and Confluence pages, which Telvi reads as evidence. Only what the engineer or the linked page actually says is recorded, attributed to its author.
Each statement is checked against the code it refers to and marked confirmed, contradicted or unverified. Documentation that disagrees with the code is flagged. When a team retires an old approach, the record changes once the code reflects it.
Engineers ask in plain language and get a short answer with numbered sources: the person, the document or the line of code. Telvi traces where a column's value comes from and how data moves between pipelines, starting from what your team has documented.
When something has not been recorded, Telvi says so and turns it into an open question for the person most likely to know. Coverage grows with use, and what remains unknown stays visible.
Designed for AI agents. The same verified, sourced statements are built to be queried by AI agents, so they work from your team's decisions rather than inferring them from the schema.
How it compares
| Capability | Wiki | Enterprise AI search | Code assistants | Telvi |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Captures why, not only what | When someone writes it | When a document says it | Reads code only | Asks the engineers who know |
| Checks statements against the code | No | No | No record of intent | Every statement |
| Shows what is not known | No | Answers regardless | Infers | Opens a question for an owner |
| Flags outdated documentation | No | No | No | When the code disagrees |
| Attribution for every answer | Page history | Document links | No | Person, document or line of code |
Use cases
Before modifying a package, view or load, see what depends on it, why it was built that way and who to consult.
New engineers get sourced answers in their first week instead of queueing for time with senior staff.
Record what departing or rotating engineers know while they are still available to answer questions.
Give assistants and agents the business rules and history behind your platform, not only its schema.
Built for Oracle PL/SQL warehouses: packages, procedures, materialised views, scheduler jobs, control files and static data, together with Jira and Confluence. Running a different stack? Tell us about it.
Security and deployment
What Telvi needs, where it runs, and what we do and do not have in place today.
Pilot
Choose one pipeline or subject area, and the engineers who know it best.
Grant read-only access to the relevant code, plus Jira and Confluence if you use them.
Telvi asks your engineers targeted questions and checks their answers against the code.
See what was captured, what the code confirms, what it contradicts and what is still open.
Tell us about your platform and the area you would start with. We will reply within one working day.
